It's just another episode that focused mainly on Kira and Kifune's battle. Kifune's past is also revealed near the end part and why he's working for the Kasumi-Ooji clan. There is only once scene with Ichigo and the rest with them spotting Lurichiyo in the hands of the assassins. Kenpachi and the other Captains are doing nothing cause they are sure there's a reason behind Ichigo and Rukia's actions so they are just hanging around and leave the search to their vice-captains and underclassmen.
