Someone tried to assassinate Sonsaku, a noble warlord, and Kan'u was accused of it even though she and her group were just travelers who happened to pass by. This made Koumei to stand up for Kan'u, saying someone who work for the Son Family has a much stronger motive than that of a travelling warrior who isn't related to the Son Family at all.
