Episode 01 Meet Again

Mao Misuzawa returned to Kibina, Japan after living in France for 2 years. However, her parents remained overseas so she is arranged to live in the Sanada Residence. When she arrived and saw Kouchi Sanada, she enthusiastically talk to him but Kouchi couldn't remember ever knowing her. Then his bestfriend Aihara Kazuki came over to fetch him for their movie club film shooting. When he saw Mao, he recognized her and called her Mao-neechan, Kouichi was surprised when he heard it. He, Mao and Kazuki were all childhood friends and used to play a lot when they were young so he and Kazuki both glady welcomed Mao back.


When Kouichi's mother arrived, she told Kouichi and Kazuki that Mao will be staying in their house for the time being. Mao informed them she will also be studying in Kibina High-Kouichi and Kazuki's school and asked them both to take care of her. Then she felt the effect of Jet lag and decided to take a nap so Kouichi and Kazuki went out to shoot their film.


That night, Kazuki told her sister, Nana, that Mao has returned and she was currently living in Kouichi's house. Nana was glad and thought it was interesting because Mao was a growing girl and Kouichi was a growing boy. Kazuki didn't think so and explained that Mao was like a sibling although the two were unrelated. Meanwhile, on the Sanada residence, Mao went to Kouichi's room which surprised him. She couldn't sleep because she took a nap that afternoon and asked Kouichi to play video games with her all night. So they were both sleepy the next morning while on their way to school. They then ran into Kazuki and Nana who said she tagged along to see Mao and told her she will also be studying in Kibina High. This made Mao glad cause they'll all be together.

Kouichi and Kazuki saw from the Section bulletin board that they were both classmates again. They looked for familiar names in the same section and saw Akira Hiiragi's name. Hiiragi was their Movie Research Club's president and this didn't sound good news for them that they told each other to forget they saw it. But Hiiragi was already behind them and gladly informed them the fact. Mao then came. Kouichi introduced her to Hiiragi then Hiiragi invited her to join their club but Mao properly refused.

Kouichi and Kazuki proceed to their homeroom when Sakino slapped Kazuki's back. She told Kazuki they're in the same class and that she'll make him practice soccer with her during breaks from then on which Kazuki thought was the worst. Kouichi then saw his crush, Yuumi Hoshino, in the same class and who was focused on reading a book.

Meanwhile, after Mao was introduced to the class, she sat beside Kai Eiji and greeted him but the guy just ignored her. When the class was finished, Mao's classmates asked her why she went back to Japan. One of them asked if she preferred Japanese Universities, then everyone then talks on their mock entrance exams experiences in which Mao felt she can't relate so she excused herself by telling them she has to see the teacher and do some transfer procedures.

Outside the teacher's office, Mao met Kai once again and asked what he was doing there. She presumed it was for exam counseling. Kai told her he don't think they could get along then left.


Kouichi stayed behind after class when he lost in rock,paper,scissors with Kazuki. They had an agreement on whoever loses would be the one to return the costumes they used for the film to the Drama Club. When he had returned it, he went back into his classroom to get his bag and saw Yuumi wiping the writings off the blackboard. Upon seeing Kouichi, Yumi left the classroom. Kouichi called for her but couldn't utter a word to say. Yumi shyly said she was glad they were both on the same class again then left, immediately.

On the other hand, Kazuki was on his way home when he spotted a paper plane on the ground. He realized it was an examination paper and found out it belonged to Fumita Eriko. Then he saw another paper plane flying out the Science lab window so he went there to return the test paper to Eriko who was sitting next to the window. Fumita thanked him for returning the paper but told him to keep it to himself. Kazuki asked her why she would have 0 on her exams when she is a genius with an I.Q. of 190. Fumita said it has no real meaning. She just wanted to see how the teachers would react. She stared at Kazuki and asked if he was going out with anyone. When he said he wasn't, Futami suggest they conduct experiment. Kazuki wonders what it is about but before he could ask, Futami kissed him on the lips.

Random Thoughts:

This anime is really promising so I decided to make entries about it. It may seemed boring to you, but it's actually one of the animes I found that makes highschool romance really interesting. The animation is purely unique and solid and the songs and background music is really decent. It mostly focused on building relationships and developing each characters by showing their own parts without messing with the main plot. If you're into school life, slice of life, romance anime, then this one suits you.
