Continuing from where I left off in the part one I'm gonna proceed on introducing the guys winding up in such enviable situation. I meant things you didn't expect to happen but it turned out a luck for you. A good example here is Keitaro Urashima from Love Hina. Keitaro, the main male character, takes over as the residential house manager of the Hinata Inn from his grandmother. However, his grandmother fails to tell him that the inn is changed into an all-girls dormitory.
His presence in a place meant only for girls leads to a disastrous results mainly because of the misunderstandings in situations like when he walks in a room while a girl is dressing or taking a dip in the outdoor hot spring.
You don't think he's lucky? I do. These girls who caused him all the body tortures he received actually loved him in return because Keitaro has a gentle personality that wins over the people around him. Isn't that enough of a reason to consider him lucky? It's also one of the reason why I like Love Hina.
The lady boarders, themselves, were interesting enough to keep you following the anime. There's Naru Narusegawa who also aims to enter Tokyo University and likes Keitaro. Although she is sometimes referred to as "one fuse short of a cannon" she is actually kind and is very intelligent. The only reason she goes violent with a fiery temper is when Keitaro does something you won't be proud of. Kaolla and Shinobu are almost the same age but have totally different personalities. Unlike Kaolla who's very enthusiastic, Shinobu is the shy-type and probably the sweetest among the girls at Hinata Inn. She also likes to cook and do house chores. Kaolla who's very hyperactive greets things that are new to her with "Is that food?" question. Her room is like a jungle and she likes to invent weird machines. Then there's Kitsune who likes teasing Keitaro and has flare for business, and Motoko who's responsible for most of Keitaro's through the wall experiences in courtesy of her hazardous sword technique.
Another one is Ikuto from Nagasarete Airantou. He ran away from home after having arguments with his father but on board a ship, he accidentally fell on the sea while a storm is raging. Days later, he found himself in an island called Airantou where you can only see girls. Being the only guy in the island, the girls of Airantou fought competitions just to get him. Even stalking on him while he's taking a bath.
The whole harem concept isn't very original but the comedy last all throughout so it's really enjoyable. I find the series really amusing whenever Ikuto's nose bled exaggerately. The girls were funny as well in different ways. There's Suzu, the first person to find Ikuto when he was stranded on the island and is the closest person to him. She's very honest and loves Ikuto although she didn't realize it at first. She also doesn't mind being naked in front of Ikuto.
Ayane and Machi are sisters and priestesses in the local shrine. Now, now these two were the funniest especially Machi. She likes torturing Ayane with her voodoo doll. Thinking it was Ayane and poking it with anything sharp. While Machi tends to get things done with dangerous methods, Ayane, accomplish things by establishing challenge or by bribes.
The others girls are Rin, Chikage and Yukino. Before Ikuto drifted into the island, Rin was the most popular because of her unbelievable strength and her boy-like characteristics. Chikage is a scientist that wants to do strange experiments on Ikuto, and Yukino, she's the youngest girl in the island and is often seen riding on top of her animal friends.
Despite the girls desire to marry Ikuto because he's the only guy on the island, they had all loved him because Ikuto's kind and thoughtful. Although he's not physically strong as the girls on the island, he tries to find every possible way to help.
